Have you ever struggled with questions related to God and faith? Do you find it difficult to explain God to your non-religious friends? Have you wondered if science disproves Christianity? If you answered yes to all these questions, read on.
The world has become more secular than ever. More often than not, you might find yourself grappling with questions. Unanswered questions. Misunderstood questions. Questions about God, Jesus and the intersection of faith and science.
You might know friends, family members and acquaintances who’ve abandoned their Catholic beliefs. This is especially true for millennials. Research conducted by Pew Research Centre (2014) suggested that there has been a significant rise in young adults who identify themselves as agnostic or atheist.
Among Catholics alone, an alarming 40% of individuals born after 1996 have separated themselves from the Mother church. Many raised in religious homes have left their faith. Another Pew data (2016) suggests that 41% of young Catholics lapsed from their faith around the age of 16 and 35. These numbers have only gone up ever since.
While boredom with religious services, scandals or disagreements with Church teachings play a role in some abandoning their faith, the primary driver seems intellectual. The struggle to reconcile science and religion is a hurdle for most millennials.
Keeping this in mind, we at the Apostolic School have a unique programme that enables you to become soldiers of true faith, the Apologetics.
Become soldiers of the true faith.
Don’t get us wrong. Apologetics are not about heated debates and arguments with non-believers. On the other hand, it provides clarity and understanding of Christian beliefs using reason, logic and evidence. In other words, Apologetics build a thoughtful defence for true faith and enables you to tackle questions that you or someone you know might have about Catholicism and faith.
Why should you sign up?
- Shifting Culture: The world is becoming increasingly secular. Many young adults raised in religious households leave the true faith, often because of intellectual challenges.
- Science and Faith: The perceived conflict between science and faith is a major hurdle for many. These sessions help bridge the gap by demonstrating how faith and reason should coexist.
- Sharing Faith: Knowing how to articulate your beliefs clearly and respectfully is essential for sharing your faith. Our sessions equip you to do that effectively.
What is our approach?
- Reasoned Arguments: We put forth philosophical arguments for God’s existence that are both cosmological and moral.
- Historical Evidence: We help you examine the historical reliability of the Bible and the evidence for Jesus’ life and resurrection to strengthen the Christian faith.
- Scientific Exploration: We explore scientific discoveries that support the idea of a creator and the complexity of life.
Our idea is not to force Catholic beliefs. But to offer a reasoned and respectful defence of Christianity. So that you can answer questions related to Catholicism, address doubts and share the hope you find in the Christian faith.
